the past is prologue, 2022
The tornado that swept through the north-side of Clay Hill Memorial Forest on Dec. 11, 2022 shifted the landscape. The view was startling; the intangible is now tangible. The warmth of the inside of the trees glowed in an orange hue contrasting with the cooler colors of the winter season.
And it was quiet. And low.
“the past is prologue” consists of three installations inspired by the tornado’s transformation of Clay Hill Memorial Forest. The objects in the installation are at different stages of breakdown and decay but in consideration of the resiliency of nature. All of the objects in the exhibition will be returned to the forest floor making this exhibition the only time of this work’s existence.
